One Traveller Supports Maggie's
Celebrating our new charity partner
Back in March 2024 we asked our Facebook Community members for inspiration on a new cause to work with. We were overwhelmed by the response and are delighted to announce that Maggie’s will be our new charity partner.
From their nationwide centres, Maggie’s has been providing free cancer support and information for 28 years. Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, the centres are warm and welcoming spaces run by expert staff who help people live well with cancer.
Unprecedented demand for cancer support
The support Maggie’s provides has never been more needed. People living with cancer have experienced an incredibly difficult few years, with the pandemic, cost-of-living crisis and pressure on the NHS making life harder than ever before.
Our partnership will help deliver vital cancer support across the UK, including financial and psychological support sessions, helping to alleviate the extreme stress and anxiety that a cancer diagnosis can bring.
Hayley Webb, Centre Fundraising Manager based at Maggie’s Cambridge, at Addenbrooke’s Hospital said:
“With more people being diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime, it has never been more essential to have the support of Maggie’s alongside their medical care.
We’re delighted and incredibly grateful to be chosen by One Traveller as their new charity partner. Our funding comes mostly from voluntary donations, and it really does make a difference to the people accessing our support. This partnership will help s to be there for people with cancer and their loved ones, when they need us most.”
